Why do I attend First Baptist Church of Lawrence?

After visiting and exploring different denominations, I found the theology of the American Baptists to be most comfortable. The church is debt free, and the love of Jesus really shows in the congregation.

New Hymnal

We are purchasing new, updated hymnals that celebrate our Baptist Heritage. If you would like to help by donating a hymnal in memory or honor of someone, please contact the church office for details.

Summer Programs

Instead of VBS, this summer we will be taking a five week trip to Egypt and the life of Joseph in our Summer Sunday School Program beginning on July 11th.

Check Us Out

Every Thursday at 7:30 and Friday at 7:00, we broadcast our Sunday morning service on cable channel 99. After checking out our service on TV, come visit us any Sunday to share in our community.

Come to Egypt!

Starting this Sunday, we will take our trip down the nile!!!

Registration begins at 9:00am and the adventure will begin at 9:15.  Come and bring your children, your parents, distant relatives, and friends.

All ages will be able to participate and learn.  Everyone who comes will be placed within one of ten family groups.  It doesn't matter if you are young or old, married or single, have kids or don't have kids, we will find a place for you.  (Childcare will be provided for children 3 years and under).

Food Pantry

Food demands have increased dramatically. Please consider buying something extra for the pantry each time you shop for groceries. We are in particular need of canned soup or fruit, cereal, toilet paper and paper towels. Our thanks to those who so generously give to FBC Food Pantry. If you would like to donate items, please call or stop by the church office, 843-0020. Our Food Pantry is open Monday & Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.
