Rev. Matthew Sturtevant - Senior Pastor
Rev. Matthew Sturtevant comes to Kansas from Central Illinois, the Land of the Fighting Illini, by way of Kentucky, where the sun shines bright and the birds make music all the day. He met and married his wife Kimberly there in 1998 and they have a five year old daughter Addison and a two year old son Ethan. Matt has been involved in ministry in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Kansas. He is a graduate of Georgetown College and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. When he finds time to waste, he does it following Cubs baseball, college basketball and football, listening to bluegrass music, and spending time outdoors.

Rev. Sandra Walton - Associate Pastor
The Rev. Sandra (Sandy) Walton began ministry at FBC Lawrence in March, 1993. Born in Rock Island, Ill., she attended Ottawa University, Ottawa KS. and graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, OR with a B.A. in Music Education. Before returning to Kansas in 1978, she enjoyed living in Oregon, Nevada, and New York. She received her Master of Divinity degree from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1990 at the First Baptist Church, Parsons, KS where served as Associate Pastor for 4 years prior to coming to Lawrence. Pastor Sandy has three adult children – son Timothy in Menlo Park, CA; son Tom in Lawrence, and daughter Angi in Offenburg, Germany – and 7 grandchildren.
Her responsibilities at FBC include Music and Senior Adult Ministries as well as sharing in other pastoral responsibilities.
Pastor Sandy enjoys gardening, singing, and reading.

Patrick Landau - Pastoral Assistant
Patrick Landau started on July 1, 2009 as pastoral assistant here at FBC. His role is to serve the college students of the church and to develop a ministry to students at Kansas University. Alongside his responsibilities as a campus minister, he assists in various aspects of the church including Sunday worship, children's programs, and website maintenance.
Patrick was born in Kansas City, where he has spent most of his life. He graduated from William Jewell College with a degree in music composition. Prior to arriving at FBC he spent three years in education working in an alternative school as well as an urban charter school. He currently attends Central Baptist Theological Seminary and is participating in their new CREATE program. His wife attends KU Law. Also coming with them is their dog Daffy, a hyper-active chihuahua-dachsund.
