Learning the Christian Way
These are just some of the words that come to mind when one thinks about Christian Education in the local church. Walter Bruggeman said that "every community, every church, that wants to last beyond a single generation must concern itself with education. Education has to do with continuity, with helping to carry forward across time the very tradition and teachings that shape and form a people over the long haul."
At First Baptist Church, we take our Christian Education seriously. We educate in numerous ways but we put a great deal of emphasis on our Sunday School program. It has been a mainstay in Baptist life and here at our church, it is no different. Our Sunday School program is held from 9:30 to 10:30 on Sunday mornings and is led by various teachers. Our Sunday School program includes adults, college, youth, children, and the nursery. Our adult teachers use the Bible, Sunday School curriculum, and relevant books to facilitate discussion and learning. |
